Parent Informational Meeting

Dear BCIS Community,

“Success is the place in the road where preparation meets opportunity.”

On March 28, 2018 such an opportunity was available to all parents. We came prepared and provided opportunities for all families. Combining those two things will bring sustained success for all! Our goal is constant and mission is crystal clear: we are dedicated to excellence and are committed to making BCIS the BEST International School in Shenzhen, China. We were able to share our vision, dreams, hopes and expectations for your families as well as our staff. There was strong representation from staff, students and parents. Thank you for your support!

The mission of BCIS is to provide the best education for your students; A well-rounded education, more than scores. While we certainly have high expectations for our students academically, based upon our goals of placing students in schools abroad, specifically the United States; we must also strive to building and supporting the whole child. We provided a detailed plan of improvements made this year and what is projected for next year and beyond. (Aligned curriculum, Highly-Effective teachers and staff, communication with families, connections with Concordia as well as other colleges and universities worldwide, state of the art technology, character education and ASA)

We also answered questions regarding high school opportunities at BCIS in the near future. While we are having serious conversations with Dr. Yung, President and the Board, we are looking at the beginning stages of planning for programming at the high school level within the near future.

We have so many amazing opportunities at our fingertips at BCIS; Beautiful campus, quality, dedicated staff, supportive families, supportive board, strong and clear direction, wonderful connections around the globe, and of course incredible students.

With so many opportunities, we conducted a survey of parents in attendance on the 28th to gauge the overall belief. We asked 10 questions and in summary, very favorable results! Overall, the survey demonstrates satisfaction with BCIS and the direction with which we are headed. A couple of items to seriously look at and address are already under way. (Aligned curriculum will be in place for this August). In summary, for example, 85% of those surveyed are very satisfied with the overall experience at BCIS. Also, 96% answered clearly and emphatically that; “BCIS’ educational values align with your family’s goals, dreams and expectations…?”
